Masdevallia
Masdevallia (mas-dah-VAL-ee-uh)
These small triangular beauties grow on the cool, moist, and breezy slopes of the Andes. They need daily care. These come in bright reds, oranges, whites, yellows, purples, and pinks.
- Give them bright light, but no direct sun. These can be grown under fluorescent lights.
- Water daily and maintain high humidity.
- Cool temperatures (50°-75°F/10°-25°C) with constant air movement are important.
- Repot every 1-2 years.
- Masdevallias do not go dormant in winter, but you can water them a little less. Instead of daily water, give them a drink every 2 or 3 days.
