Miltonia

Miltonia (mill-TOH-nee-uh) or
Miltoniopsis (mill-toh-nee-OP-sis)
These beautiful orchids resemble pansy flowers. They come in pinks, reds, yellows, and whites.
- Keep them in bright shade. Some direct sun in the early-morning or late-afternoon is ok.
- Water daily and maintain high humidity.
- Miltoniopsis prefer cool temperatures under 80°F/27°C. Miltonias prefer warmer temperatures and some time to dry out between waterings.
- Repot every 1-2 years.
Miltonia Family
Miltonias can be crossbred with closely related orchids to create hybrids. Hybrid plants combine the best qualities of both parents, and some can survive poor growing conditions or neglect. This "hybrid durability" makes them great choices for beginning orchid growers. Many Miltonia sold today have been hybridized with other types of Miltonia.
